BELLA’S FINDZ

Bella’s Findz, a vintage reseller based in the DMV area, commissioned me to design a logo that would meld together a funky, fun mascot with a playful, retro style inspired by retro tees.

The Research

With the idea of utilizing a lovable pigeon as the focus of the logo, we agreed that incorporating a vintage tee-inspired visual style into the logo would keep the pigeon anchored to the vintage concept of Bella’s Findz.

See below for the moodboard.

The First Round of Logos

Keeping in mind the focus on a vintage-inspired look, I revised my original pigeon idea and added some more detailing to the logo, with multiple variants for each different detail added.

See below for the first round of logos.

The Color Explorations

Alongside the first round of logos, I began experimenting with limited color palettes to let the pigeon shine.

My first color exploration was with a collection of bright, bold colors to match the pigeon’s funky personality, but I also included a more muted set of color palettes to reiterate the vintage element of Bella’s Findz.

See below for the different palettes.

The Second Round of Logos

With my client’s request to utilize a graphic of the pigeon with a bowtie, but with simple wings instead of arms, I narrowed down the logo selection to six updated logos, one for each of the color palettes that spoke to my clien most.

See below for the second round of logos.

The Final Logos

The final logo decision included the leftmost color palette, a funky purple color that emphasized the playful aspect of the logo.
